Post by: veebr0 on November 15, 2008, 10:42:43 PM
Dear all, I have a USB Printer HP LasertJet 1020, I can configure all into the sme server but when I try to print out any document from my Desktop XP SP3 nothing happend, I just checked if the SME server recognize the Printer device and appear the sme server recognize the device when it is connected.

I used the command bellow to check it:
command: tail -100 /var/log/messages

And the results is:
Nov 15 16:35:59 server1 kernel: usb 1-1: new high speed USB device using address 3
Nov 15 16:35:59 server1 kernel: drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 3 if 0 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x03F0 pid 0x2B17

I really appreciate any suggestion due to really I`m needing to print some importants documents,

Best Regards
Eviny

Hi

in my experience that kind of printer never worked with SME..

I've solved all my problems with a cheap usb/eth print server

I have a client who uses the TP-Link print server, and is very happy with it.
