Have installed vmware server as per wiki on sme 7.3 server.
Have enabled port 902 in the setup.
I can telnet 192.168.55.200 902 but do not get a banner, and can not use the VMWARE Windows console.
I have confirmed in IPTables 902 is listening.
Have un-installed/re-installed everything, still the same.
Not sure what else to try, any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Gutshot response is SME firewall rules are blocking connection with your VMware service.
Do you have the ability to setup a stock SME install and try to get VMware server running on this virgin install?
The problem here is this contrib works for most SME 7.3 users. There is a reason this contrib isn't working for you and there's a better than average chance it is your fault (not that you didn't anything wrong or on purpose). We'll just need to figure out what it is that you have done that is preventing VMware server from working.
Let's start with getting VMware server running on a virgin install of SME and work from there.

try signal-event post-upgrade; signal-event reboot

On my installations the correct port is 903... 903 is in use and when launch "vmware-config.pl" on the return message this is reported...

902 will be in use on a re-install.
Just type 902 and force it to use 902
