Apologies if this has already been posted, or worse ... a feature!
I have successfully installed SME 7.3 & configured it as a domain controller, domain name "office.lan". Using the admin account, I have joined 1 Win XP Pro SP2 workstation & 1 XP Pro SP3 to office.lan from their original workgroup (I added the patch from http://servername/server-resources/regedit/winxplogon.reg). When I reboot, I get the familiar "Press ctl-alt-delete to Start" window, but the window is totally frozen (mouse works, though), and I can't boot the machine at all. In /var/log/messages, I am seeing SME adding the machines sucessfully, then a message about locking the account.
Could this be an issue with my domain name? We are using a hosting service for our mail & web servers, and I wanted to use SME for the office intranet. Perhaps I should create it as a subdomain?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I doubt this is a feature, but it could be a bug. Try reporting it to the bug tracker (http://bugs.contribs.org/).

No the locking is default behavior as it creates an account for every machine as well, AFAIK, but as this will not be used for other purposes then internal SME Server the account is locked. I suggest you launch a bug report though as this feature should work out of the box.

Thanks very much. In progress as bug 4768 (http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4768).
