Title: browser uploads error..ftp software uploads ok
Post by: jimcroons on November 19, 2008, 03:16:43 AM
Utilizing sme 7.0. When I upload via WS_FTP, all servers I connect with send and receive aok.
However, when I use my customers websites to upload (via 3 different browsers..ie, mozilla on IBM and safari on mac) files, as soon as their mini pop-up progress window appears, the larger window errors out with server disconnect. Progress window can remain runnning for 24 hours, yet no transfer has begun. Same file transferred via WS_FTP, all is well. "Why don't i just use the known-good software?" you ask. Glad you asked. 2 of my customers are intent on me loading via their system (for xml tagging and auto-notification on their end, I guess).  I am a mega-IT virgin so go slow with me. Thanks, Jim

Um, why are you still using 7.0 -- isn't that a security risk?

Anyway, try increasing the php max file size variable as described here (http://wiki.contribs.org/Useful_Commands#PHP_Related_Commands) and see if that helps.
