I can't believe that is not the possibility to install sme server in a partition without destroy entire hard disk... i want to try smeserver but i don't want to kill my hd... why don't you give the possibility to choose a partition when install sme server without use entire hard disk.

Because a server normally is always on and does not boot to other OS-es. Don't you have an old case or HD laying around you can use?

Harddisks are cheap nowadays. Buy a new one, replace (or disconnect) the old one and install SME Server on the new one.

you can always use a virtual machine.. virtualbox, vmware server, vmware player.. choose one
many of us use virtualization to test SME, and not only SME..

Merry Christmas to you too, but as father Christmas would say: Ho ho ho!
I think you are a bit to quick to jump the gun here and a little short sighted. In this thread two solutions are handed to you so you can test SME Server. It would be a pity if you would not try, but then again it is your loss, not ours.
