Title: SME 7.4 and dynamic dns
Post by: giosy on December 14, 2008, 10:29:39 AM
Hi.
I have just installed SME Server 7.4 and I have noticied there is a new feature: managed dynamic dns service.
During first run SME Server, I have configured this service with my account name and password, but seem not works.
Also, there isn't any item ( e.g. "Dynamic dns") in Server Manager panel.
Should I the same install DDclient contribs ?
Thanks

That is because you need the admin console. Login to your terminal (or use PuTTy) and login as admin there. This should give you a menu where you can choose to reconfigure your server. The dynamic DNS setting should be in there as well. Here you can find the details in the manual: http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:Administration_Manual:Chapter6#Option_2:_Configure_this_server
