Title: Workstation backup is not working for me. Please help.
Post by: smeusr on December 20, 2008, 04:12:39 PM
Hi, I'm trying out the workstation backup and it is not doing anything.  I can see the job kick off when viewing Top command on the terminal but I don't get any backup files at the Vista desktop shared folder.  There is no identifiable activity once the job is kicked off.

Question: Does it backup all my files by default or do I have to tell it what folders to backup?

Settings: Standard out of the box SME setup with a shared folder created on a Vista machine under "Documents" folder.  I used the machine owner id and password to connect from sme to shared drive.

Here are my settings from server-manager.

Backup is Enabled.
Backup is made on LAN workstation 192.168.0.147 via cifs
Destination backup share folder is sme_backup
Login is username
Password is ********
Number of rotating backup sets is 1
Number of daily backups contained in each set is 1
Compression level (0-7) of backup is 6
Daily backup occurs at 7:42
Each daily backup session is cleanly timed out after 8 hours.
Full backup session (new backup sets) is allowed only on Saturday

I've tried everything I can think of and searched the forum here.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
