Title: webserver problems 2

Hi

I can't get any webpages, or webmail, or manager access from anywhere.

I can ssh from local network to the server and access the server-manager.Also ssh to root access.
I can access the local ibays and printers from the local network as I would normally.
But anything web related seems to be dead.

I don't really know where to start diagnosing this problem.
All was working perfect when I went to bed last night, and then when I woke up this morning some things are not working.

I've restarted the server, and even shut down to see if this might fix the problem
No effect.

Any help where to start diagnosing. I'll look thru the logs

Hi

first of all you should tell us what happened..

then: is your web server (httpd) running? if not, did you try to start it? any message?

we are not in front of your server and if you wish help, you have to be more "verbose".. ;-)

I don't know if httpd is running

I can access my local network files that are located on the SME server. I can access the internet which is getting IP addresses via SME server

I can't access ibay webpages, webmail, server-manager.

I can only access the server-manager via using ssh in the terminal.

Thats all I can do, I don't know if httpd is running or not.

If you can access server-manager (using ssh) then httpd is running.

I guess you haven't looked in any log files.

You also seem to post here in a panic quite often. You need to learn some basic troubleshooting and debugging skills. You are a  newbie no longer. Don't expect other people to do your thinking and learning for you.

I really could not diagnose this problem so I used the 7.4 CD to do an update from 7.2, when the update came up the server said I was updating from 7.1 Anyhow I selected to update and all the ebay sites, and webmail, and joomla installs are working again.
I have no idea why this occurred, but I'll keep searching to find out how I might figure out why it happened. So I can repair it if it happens again.

Launch a bug report as this should not happen on normal updates.
