Title: Can't send email after 7.4 upgrade
Post by: junrau on January 05, 2009, 02:42:03 AM
Just upgraded SME 6.01 to 7.4 and can't send email.  I can't telnet to port 25 and can't receive mail from the outside.  On 6.01, I used ssmtp/spop3 on ports 465/995, but sending that way doesn't work either, and I don't even see those options in server manager.  I did a restore from 6.01 on a fresh 7.4 install.

When sending email from Horde, I get the error: "There was an error sending your message: unable to connect to smtp server localhost:25".  I didn't intentionally do anything to block port 25.

Please report these issues to the bug tracker so they can be investigated. When this is done, it would be great if you could post the bug numbers here for future reference.

I did a full reconfiguration and everthing seems to be well now.  I got several ebuild60 event on /dev/md2:servername.domain.com emails during the time when I couldn't send.  Is this to be expected after an upgrade?

I don't know, but you are most likely to get an answer when launching this as a bug report, upgrades should work, although this is a big step to hope for a out of the box upgrade, since there are major changes. Please open a bug report for this upgrade and tell the history and ask your questions there.
