Dear All,
I'm installing Proxy Auth Packages (e-smith-proxy-auth-0.0.1-01dc.noarch.rpm) found on http://www.moonlightcomputers.homelinux.com/contribs4/web/proxy-auth/howto.htm on SME 7.4 but failed with following error message :
file /etc/pam.d/squid from install of e-smith-proxy-auth-0.0.1-01dc
conf licts with file from package squid-2.5.STABLE14-4.el4
Is there any others I can use to authenticate user before using squid on SME ?
Thank for help,
Pongsean

That is most likely because it was written for SME Server 5.5, since you are installing on SME Server 7.4 (which is two major releases, and several minor later as well), you should not expect such a package to work.
Resources on that page are hopelessly outdated. Do NOT use them. Perhaps you can convince the original author to release a new version for SME Server 7.x.

I've tried contac the authors but no respond yet.
I'm really appreciate if someone here can help me to repackage the new version.

Why not use Dansguardian? Look at the wiki.

Thank you for suggestion with Dnsguardian, btw just needed the authentication, not the filtering the contents
Best regards,
