Title: Wordpress creates folders as www - how to change ?
Post by: Amir Inbar on February 23, 2009, 11:36:53 PM
Hello.

I have installed wordpress using the contrib.
The contrib is installing wordpress in opt.
I needed to give a web-designer permission to upload things like templates and plugins to the /opt/wordpress/ directory AND sub directories so i used user panel contrib and changed the group and owner of the /opt/wordpress to the user (the web designer).
The problem is that every time the designer uses wordpress to upload things to the server, wordpress does it as root.
How can i change the user wordpress is using to write files to the server ?

Could you clarify what exactly you are trying to accomplish? If you have installed the Wordpress contrib, then permissions should be automatically configured so that when logged into Wordpress you can upload content (I think by default to /opt/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/year )
