We use to just click on this link and it would open the internet and connect to the page. Now it comes up with an error. It opens if you have Mozilla but if you have IE 7 the error comes up? Any suggestions out there would help.

Welcome to the forums.
It looks like you have Dansguardian installed. Make sure you have configured the correct proxy settings in Internet Explorer.

Nothing has changed on the server.

hi..
first of all, re-read David's answer and try what he suggests you..
then, think about we are far from you and we don't/can't see you/your monitor/your server.. ok.. now, it should be clear to you that you must be as much descriptive as you can..
so, please, tell us how is your SME configured and if you have any contribs..
Ciao
Stefano

Sorry I am a bit new at this. The server is just used as a file server, server-only ...the email and internet do not go through the server.
We had no problem till this week. I am a bit confuse as why IE 7 does not and mozilla does work.

So if Internet access is not via the SME Server, how is this issue related to SME? I'm sure it is related, but some explanation is needed before we can assist you.

My guess is s/he is hosting a website on this server and is seeing different results with different browsers... can you confirm this, sysadmincmha?
Otherwise I would also say this is most likely not related to SME Server if internet access is not running through SME Server.

No website on this server. We use it as just a place to store files for the office with bays for access. it is just connected to the router same as other computers. This server is not used for email or website or internet. I have never had this problem before until now, and the error makes me think it is related to the server just the way it is worded, but maybe its not??
The only thing lately we have changed on the computers itself was to install MS Office 2007.
I could try and shut down the server and see if i get the same error i suppose?
-
Yes, give that a go.
-
You haven't set SME up as a second DHCP server, or given it the same IP as something else on your network, have you?
And just to clarify, are you having the same problems with every website, or just with docs.gthiringsolutions.ca:5480 ?
-
No it has its own ip address 192.168.0.2 and yes its just this one website everything else is fine.

Is your system fuly up-to-date? AFAIK the last release fixed some Office 2007 related issues in samba and httpd, do not have the bug numbers handy.
-
Have you tested the access to the site from another location?
Have you tried shutting down your SME server and seeing if you still have the same problem yet?
...if every other website is working, then most likely something has changed at docs.gthiringsolutions.ca:5480
I take it you don't host this site?

I will try shutting the server down this weekend, as I cannot just shut it down as too many staff work of the server. Yes I am not sure some computers come up with this error mentioned above, but i found one computer that can access that web page. I have tried to access the web page from home and it works fine.

Have you flushed the cache in each browser, and flushed the cache on sme server ? See the FAQ for details IIRC.
-
Thank you Mary. Yes I did try that. Thanks
