Hi all,
I have had shadow copy working on my 7.4 server for months, much to my joy (users taking care of themselves!). Recently, my boss asked me to reconfigure the shares. I migrated the old folder contents over to their new ibays - Exec, Management and Personnel (without the @GMT symlinks), then renamed the old folders so that users wouldn't inadvertantly access them. It seems that shadow copy is not working on the new ibays. Thinking that it wasn't enabled, I explicitly enabled SC for them, following the procedure on http://wiki.contribs.org/ShadowCopy. However, looking in the logs & at /home/e-smith/files/.shadow/ (as well as in the ibays themselves), I am not seeing any SC action. Here is the output of /var/log/messages:

I must be doing something boneheaded, but I just can't figure it out. Any help, as always, greatly appreciated.

It should work also if you change your config..

Yea, guess it is. Appunto. ;-)
Suddenly, after 3 hours, I am seeing the shadowcopy symlinks in my ibays! So I guess that's the REAL bug. Weird one.

How? Did it fix itself or did you do something?

Hi David, it was "resolved" by the appearance of the SC symlinks in the ibays 3 hours after activating SC for them, but I see the bug team has reopened my ticket, as this isn't expected behavior. I will post the resolution to this forum once I receive an answer.

Would it be because of this note in the wiki ?
Note that a new snapshot is only taken if files have changed.

Hi Mary, I'm not sure what your question is.
I am aware that SCs aren't created unless changes are made, I forgot to include in my original message that I was modifying files every 20 minutes - 1/2 hour, and the ibays are busy ones anyway.
