Installed Sail on to a Dell SC440 with SAS card and 2 x 250GB HD's
Testing with a SNOM360 and a Grandstream 100. Both phones log on but not properly. Each phone can call the PBX *56* etc, call out via the installed analogue PCI card but they cannot phone each other.
The Extensions listing shows errors as does the asterisk message log.
Log extract for the Grandstream
[Mar 5 17:28:50] WARNING[5016] chan_sip.c: Maximum retries exceeded on transmission 5d3ffc9183483884@192.168.123.248 for seqno 37828 (Critical Response)
Does anyone know what this error message means ? I had put it down to a problem with the Dell's onboard Broadcom NIC but having swapped to a Netgear PCI card I now believe the issue is with the Dell itself.

This usually means that they aren't registering corectly...
check that you have asked the phones to register to the correct IP
check that you have set localnet= properly in sip.conf.
usually this

You are absolutely correct sip.conf contained 192.168.1.0 when the machine had been built as 192.168.123.0 - both phones registered instantly after setting it correctly. I can take the Netgear card out now :-)
