I was making a new sme server (have 3 already) and it gets Stuck at "Creating Quota Files:"
never had this come up before.
Its a ADM Atholon 64x2 5200 CPU, MSI quad core ready AM 2 motherboard, 2 ggb ram, 250 gig hard drive IDE drive, with a cd/dvd. If anyone can help me it would be much appricated.
it had a sata drive but i installed a IDE drive, not sure if that has caused the problem.

Not sure either, but this is a issue you should raise in the bugtracker. You are most likely to be helped by the experts (there the quickest), on top off that others might face this problem in the future and the only way for the devs to find and implement a solution is after a detailed bug report and diagnosis through the bug tracker.
After reporting a bug please post a pointer to the bug here for future readers.

Someone must have a solution to why this gets stuck at Creating quota files on this new computer.

Hi.. did you raise a bug as requested? if no, please go to bugzilla and file one, thank you
anyway, what about looking in the logs for errors? you can move between consoles..
Ciao

I seem to recall a similar issue has been reported before. Have you done an advanced search on these forums and also searched the bugzilla. You may find the question already answered.

No need for any of that. Reporting via the bug tracker is all that's required.

I have reported it to bug tracker. Bug 5081. Hope this helps.....

Please, try to install with the following parameters:
sme pci=nommconf all-generic-ide
Then, after the first reboot, stop when you see the SME Logo and add these parameters again at the kernel, typing "a", one space, and then add pci=nommconf all-generic-ide

Problem fixed. I should be more patient with a 250g hard drive. It takes a lot loger then a 80g. Thanks
