Hi All
I am wondering how I would go about volunteering some of my time to the SME project. I hadn't had much to do with Linux before starting my new job about 2 years ago. I did however do a lot of Unix programming in perl in my early years but moved over to languages such as Oracle Forms, Edge, PHP (little programming skills) PowerBuilder and more recently Access?
I am currently studying a correspondence course in Linux Administration and have about a year to go on that, I would like to see how maybe my skills can be used to help with SME as I really have enjoyed what I have learnt so far using the product.
I'm not sure that my perl or php skills would be up to scratch but would like to see how I could possibly help in this product.
Much appreciated ( keep up the great work )
Iain

Hi igardiner
I am very happy to give you the welcome to SME. You can help our community, specially fixing or test the SME8 bugs. This is our primary target, but we have a lot of tasks too.
Please, read this at the wiki:

Thank you for your effort and time.

Iain,
Thank you for your willingness to jump in and help!
To add to what Normando posted, you can goto this link here in the bug tracker:

Notice the column of unconfirmed bug reports. The developers need help to confirm these reports. If you need help with how to confirm, subscribe to the devinfo mailing list and ask. You can also ask in the bug report itself such as this: "What can I do to confirm this report?"

Thanks for that info, i'd definitely like to help in anyway that I can.
I'll have a look and see how I go, thanks again for the information.
