Title: system won't reboot
Post by: Agent86 on March 27, 2009, 01:30:18 AM
Hi

Strange event ?

When I login to server-manager I see in red : Warning: a reboot is required before proceeding! Failure to reboot now may leave your system in an unknown state!

So I figured ok, click on reboot and nothing happens, so I click shutdown and nothing happens

Then I ssh to the server and do: signal-event reboot, and it says system is going down for reboot. But nothing happens.

I ssh over to the server-manager and reboot, and it says system is going down for reboot, but nothing happens.

I'm sort of worried it might break something if I just turn it off.

Is there any other command I can use to shutdown or reboot the system.

Other then that it appears to still be working fine as far as I can tell.

Any advise would be great, thanks

Try issuing a signal-event post-upgrade ; signal-event reboot.

You can always press
Ctrl Alt Del
together, which will force a controlled reboot.

I tried that too and it did not reboot either.
I ended up just hitting the reset button, which I hated doing;and it game back up with raid array clean thank God LOL

Anyhow, thanks for the help.
