Hi
When i have to select driver for local ethernet adapter, i'm asked to use Unknown for Chipset "Attansic Technology Corp. L1 Gigabit ethernet ......"
But it Wont Work
I have tried to find something manually, but nothing looks OK.
My Ethernet is on-board a Asus P5B-E Motherboard.
And ethernet adapter nr.2 is a D-Link DFE-530TX Witch use a Via-rhine Driver.
Hope someone can help me, so i can use the SME

CentOS 4, which SME 7.4 is based on, is a rebuild of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 source code. So basically if a device will work with RHEL4 it should normally work with SME 7.4 without any difficulties.
However, RHEL4 is now getting a bit long in the tooth and doesn't support a lot of newer ethernet cards (integrated or PCI) very well. Your best bet would be to obtain a cheap PCI network card built from a common chipset like the Realtek 8139. Then just leave the unsupported integrated NIC unconfigured.

Yes i have, had the same thought.
But i could be nice to save the 20$ for something else.
and it will take me a few days before i have The Adapter.

The problem is that if you end up compiling the driver, every time the kernel changes you'll have to recompile it.
The other choice would be to try SME 8.0 beta and see how that goes.
