Title: Question about Truk setup
Post by: Tib on March 30, 2009, 04:29:16 AM
I'm doing some testing and came across one thing.

When I try and setup a eg:12voip sip trunk ... it won't let me do it.

It just says Trunk Name Not Entered.

I don't have any other trunk setup except a sail to Sail trunk.

Do I require a proper hardware trunk before it will allow me to setup sip trunks?

Regards,

Tib

Which version of SAIL or FreePBX are we talking about here? Did it work previously?

David is right Tib - we need more info than you have given...

I've found the error message you refer to but it can be generated for several different reasons...

Which carrier did you choose?  (general SIP perhaps?)

What did you fill out on the trunk create panel?  i.e What values did you enter?

Sorry about that

Version: sail-2.2.1-719

Carrier is one I use in live : 12Voip

sip.12voip.com

In  carriers [peer]
Quote
type=peer
host=
qualify=3000
canreinvite=no
username=
fromuser=
secret=

Wouldn't you need to specify the username (& I assume password) to the SIP server before it lets you connect?

OK - so this must be a carrier you yourself have ceated.  I still need to know what you filled out in the trunk create screen.... This screen

This same setup works fine in my live machine ... but in the live machine I have a number if trunks setup.

12voip being one of them and all works well.

And yes the user name and password is setup correctly in the trunk .. the example was the carrier setup not trunk.

The Live machine I have is Version: sail-2.2.1-718.

Also in the live machine I have an SPA3000 FXO setup as a trunk.

What did you put in the peer stanza name ?  There are 5 values to fill in and you've only given me 4

I don't have that on my list

all I have is :
Trunk Name:
DiD Number:
Carrier's URL/IP Address:
Username :
Password :

Does .. Peer stanza label = DiD Number:

in that case I didn't put anything in there

....and that's why it is failing.

put the inbound telephone number in their, or the username.. Doesn't matter which.  Should cure your problem.
