Title: how to syncronized two server in sme 7.4
Post by: veebr0 on April 01, 2009, 12:38:46 AM
Hi to all after read an following the advance samba step link http://wiki.contribs.org/Advanced_Samba (http://wiki.contribs.org/Advanced_Samba) was impossible to find a way that two server will be synchronized, bellow my scenery:

I have two server once will be used as a firewall+ dansguardian+Advance Samba installed and  joined in the domain and the second one (Main Domain) is used as a domain controller (e-mail server, file server, etc) the idea is to create group filter option into the firewall in order to have a good internet control.

Note: all user has been created in the domain controller

The problem is that when the users authenticated by the domain controller try to get out internet their receive a windows that need to provide user and password. How can I do to keep the sames users and password in  both server.

Thanks in advance,

If Dansguardian is set to use user accounts as the authentication point, it will always prompt for the username and password - even if the domain controller is the same server.

What should be happening if Advanced Samba is correctly configured as you noted is that the user can enter in their Domain Controller credentials at the prompt. Does this work?
