Title: Mbstring error in PHP5 on SME when installing SugarCRM
Post by: shawnbishop on April 01, 2009, 02:15:22 PM
Good Day

"I know it isn't officially support, but I assume sometime in the future it will be"

I have installed SugarcCRM 5 in the primary ibay of the sme server and followed the instructions on the wiki, but when trying to complete the install it gives me the mbstring error not found..

I have tried to add the mbstring parameters to the /etc/php5/php.ini file in the templates with no luck...

Anybody have an idea?

Thanks

What is the exact error you are seeing?

Please create a Feature Request in the bug tracker for this. The PHP5 contrib will need to be rebuilt to enable the necessary option.

Be sure to write the full error in the NFR and attach the screenshot as well.

Will do ..thanks...

The PHP5 contrib was installed from the following page, will attempt the install from Firewall Services..and then the upgrade

No need for Firewall Services' earlier contrib - the new version is standalone.

The earlier Firewall Contrib had mbstrings enabled...thought maybe doing that then the upgrade may fix it...

will test it and get back to you, but in the mean time will make an entry at the bugzilla

Really? I based the new contrib on their spec, so that is a little surprising -- but anything is possible, I guess.

I could be wrong as, I didnt get a mbstring error..as the contrib creator you must be correct.

Not necessarily, IIRC Firewall Services had misplaced their original SRPM and pointed me to another website with the contrib on it. So it's quite possible that custom changes they made were lost.

Has anyone created a Feature Request in the bug tracker for this?

I require this as well.

I'll have a look in the bug tracker later.

Regards,

Tib
