I have noticed that one of my servers seems to have an extra group called local (in /etc/group) and all files are being written with permissions as user/'local' instead of user/'shared'. In the other servers I run, there is no 'local' group and files are saved as user/'shared'
Any ideas why I have a 'local' group on this machine, and why it is being used for files writes rather than the 'shared' group that also exists ??
I have obviously done something somewhere but have no idea where. I would like to remove the 'local' group and get files saved as user/'shared' just to keep things tidy !
It's not life or death, but I'm just a bit perplexed !

Further to my earlier post, I realise I have a group called local on the server in question. But why do the other servers save files as user/'shared' and this one doesn't ?

Think I have it solved - the Group setting in ibays was set to a group called 'local' and not 'Everyone'
