I just replaced my server because the original system suffered a motherboard failure. Any way, new server is here and I did a clean install choosing the i386 version. Is that the best version for my hardware? I've got 4GB of RAM and 2 1TB drives in it.
I've searched for the differences with i386 and i586 but can't find anything that isn't from 2004 on the web. Can I get some tip on this please?

I didn't realise there was still an i386 option. The i586 version is definitely the better choice, as it is optimised for Pentium processors (and above).

Ok, so I just noticed that it isn't i586 but the options are smeserver.iso and smeserver-7.4-i386.iso. Same files size too. Any idea what the difference is? I used the 7.4-i386 version because I knew it would work. Maybe someone update the installation wiki to mention the difference too. :)

None, they are the same.

Thanks for the link. At least I don't have to worry if this is Vista with 20 options to chose from. :D
