Title: I would like to connect an Ubuntu box to the domain

Hi,

I have an SME server (latest version) and PCs runing with Ubuntu (I may upgrade them to the latest version soon)

I would like to be able to have people connecting to the PC directly from their account on the server and have their Home folder on the server.

Is there a HowTo somewhere

before answering to your question, I ask you: did you try to search the forums and the wiki before posting? :-)

now, the short one: it should be possible, but many of us have tried without success..

search google.. hint: SME is a NT-style domain controller, not an AD one.

Hi,

1. yes I did without success, meaning I found stuff but no answer to solve my problem.

2. I found this too, but it did not help much.


so there is no way with sme to get a centralized authentication system under linux ?
