Title: Printing to a printer on a second SME Server(remote) from a SME Server(Local)
Post by: Teviot on May 13, 2009, 05:46:20 AM
Is it possible to print to a remote printer via the internet?  If so, how do I go about doing it?

My situation is this.

I have an SME server(Server-Gateway) at home and I would like to print to a printer attached to a windows machine located behind an a firewall with a SME server running in SERVER-ONLY mode.

Is this possible and if so, how do I do it?

In short form:
Share the printer on the workstation
VPN to the remote network gateway, then
net use \\workstationname\printername
setup drivers for that printer on your local workstaton pointing at the new share, and bingo, start printing
