Title: make Command
Post by: Roger Parker on May 29, 2002, 02:24:05 AM
I am new to SME Server V5.1.2 and am trying to install a wireless card per several available HOWTOs and messages  I downloaded SME, burnt a CD and installed on a new system.  I have no other Linux software on the SME other than what came on the download.

Some of the processes call for using the make command which I downloaded Make 3.79.1 and cannot get it to load due to the fact that the install requires that a list of other commands be loaded, which are not.
Make−3.79.1 needs the following to be installed:
autoconf: autoconf, autoheader automake: aclocal, automake bash: sh binutils: as, ld diffutils: cmp
fileutils: chgrp, chmod, install, ls, mv, rm gcc: cc, cc1, collect2, cpp0, gcc glibc: getconf
grep: egrep, fgrep, grep m4: m4 make: make gawk: gawk sed: sed
sh−utils: basename, echo, expr, hostname, sleep, uname texinfo: install−info, makeinfo
textutils: cat, tr

Some are available and some are not.

The real question - Is there an easy way to load a group of commands and utilities on the SME Server without going through a very long effort of hunt and peck?

Thanks for you help in advance.
