Hi,
I just got a chance from my internet provider to test their VPN connection. It works like this:
I will setup a PPTP connection to one of their server, login with a password, and then be able to surf anonymously.
There are some howtos for configuring it on XP and Ubuntu clients, but is there a way to do this in SME too without destroying anything else like mail, incoming http etc. ?

AFAIK no, one would need to mangle all packets and direct them to your desire, so packets destined to port 80 would be routed to the PPTP link and the rest to the default route.
You might as well see if they can provide you with an upstream proxy, or put another router to do the job for you in front of SME.

do you know that no-one is anonymous out there?
anonymous navigation doesn't exist

Yes, I know.. :)
The provider does this because of the new IPRED laws, which, as some claims, interfer with other swedish laws.
It means that their router will give you an "anonymous" IP address on Internet, and then delete the logs, so no evidence will be saved..
But I was more curious about the technical things :)
