Title: how do I Alter default vacation messagea
Post by: robwellesley on May 28, 2009, 01:35:28 PM
Hi All.

rpm -qpl smeserver-vacation......  gives location of files.
cd to  /etc/e-smith/locale/en-us/...../functions/uservacations.pm (from memory)

The text is there but if I alter it, and save it, then - at the vacation message panel in the user-manager - type reset, and save - the 'original' default appears not my edited one?

Cheers

Rob

Rob, you'll find the default text for the vacation message (and the text fragments that are used in the panel) in the file uservacations in the /etc/e-smith/locale/en-us/etc/e-smith/web/functions folder. It is somewhere at the end of that file. You can edit the text but whenever you'll update the uservacation contrib to a newer version, your customized text will be overwritten.

Cheers,

I was removing the html paragraph tags, but from the wrong text - the help text not the actual message.  It's way too late here in NZ.
