Title: SMF works on local network but no internet why?

ok people I'm a nebbie, Install SME 7.4. Then install SMF using yum script as per the instructions. Check from the internet no template, cannot sign in, however time etc is current. Then I check from network can see template and sign in. What have I forgotten?? I have configure the server as a gateway/server

My guess would be that you are using different URLs to access your SME from inside and outside your network.

If I'm correct, you'll need to change the SMF setting for 'Base URL' to get it to work from off-site: http://wiki.contribs.org/SMF#Changing_the_Forum_Base_URL

Of course, you will then be unable to access your SMF from local computers.  To solve this problem, you'll have to arrange it so that you can access your SME from offsite or onsite using the same URL.
