I had the same issue X 4.
It needs to go to the bug tracker if it hasnt gone there already.

Reboot the server then apply the updates seems o resolve the issue.

You can always login to the command line as root (or a user with root privileges) and do
yum update
and follow the instructions, making sure you do
signal-event post-upgrade; signal-event reboot
when finished.

Also please report your issue as a bug, as multiple people have experienced this now.

I note on the bug tracker you've got the CentOS updates enabled...
I'm sure these are supposed to be disabled???? ie only SME updates should be applied...

Nope. CentOs Updates and OS are supposed to be enabled.

Apologies...

But I'm sure I saw somewhere (and I thought it was actually in the Wiki that you had the link to) that under no circumstances should the CentOS repositories be enabled....

I've always had mine disabled since SME Server 6 (and possibly 5?)...

Oh well.....

Just Googled for SME, CentOS and repository but can't find anything to back up what I said!! Perhaps I dreamt it!

Anyway, when I get home tonight I'm re-enabling my CentOS updates then :)

Again, apologies, for what seems like duff info... :(

yes it's a bug. problem solved by rebooting the server (normally server reboots not recomended) but for the moment the reboot on both my servers automatically reflected available updates in the software installer

No worries and you never know. I vaguely recall what you seem to recall but I was quite sure I had verified my repositories before submitting the bug.

The work-around I normally use is what Mary suggested above.
