Title: Server will not re-establish network connection

I am new to SME server and am having a small issue with the local network settings. I had the server up and running no problems, however when I had to restart the network router today, it appears that the server cannot establish a connection with the router.
It will only reconnect after the server has been restarted. Is there any way you can have the server send a signal to the router every 30 mins or so to confirm the IP address. The server is operating in "server only mode" while the router provides the gateway to the internet and all other computers. I primarily want the server for file sharing/storage and VPN access.

restart the network adapter after the restart of the router

Thanks. Is there anyway to have the server automatically do this every so often. I.e hourly. As I will be off site and using a VPN to access files, if  the router is restarted for any reason I will be locked out of the network until I can get back to the office to restart the network adapter.

It just seems odd that the server is the only piece of equipment that can not reconnect to the network.

No I have not. I was not sure if I simply needed to change a setting or something similar.

SME static or dynamic??

Server-Only or Gateway-Mode??

It's not likely a bug @ this point.

Seems prudent to disseminate the network config first.

Posting ifconfig would be nice.
