Title: Using funambol on Windows Mobile client, won't sync to SME
Post by: girkers on July 22, 2009, 03:25:58 PM
I have followed the wiki to set up Horde with all the needed applications and I have the latest version of Funambol installed on my phone, but I can't get my Phone to sync. My first question is if I navigate to page: https://[FQDN]/horde/rpc.php what am I suppose to see? Currently I get a blank page.

The error messages in the synclog.txt varies but some are:
Generic error, code -1
AlertStatus from server -1 &
notifyAddressChange: prepareSync failt (2060: HTTP request error: resource not found (status 404))

Looking at notlstnr.txt (Notification Listener) it is trying to connect to [FQDN]:4745 which when you manually go there, there is nothing there.

I have also checked the SyncML options in Horde and there is nothing there.

This should produce a completely blank page.

I'd recommend setting up one of the computer-based funambol sync clients (Outlook, for example), just to make sure that horde is working as expected.

Unless you have a paid cert on your SME server obtained from a certification authority included in your version of Windows Mobile, you probably need to import your server's SSL certificate into your phone.

Here are some notes on how to do this:

Thanks mmccarn, I had already done the certificate thing and have got it working using an earlier version of the plug in. I had downloaded the current stable version which is 7.22 but that is the one that didn't work. Doing some research I found that for some reason version 7.x is not fully SyncML compliant, thus it can break things. I did find that by installing version 6.8.18 on my Phone works beautifully.

In my travels I did find this article (http://southbrain.com/south/2009/06/horde-and-funambol-windows-mob.html) that explains some changes that need to be made to horde to make the newer client's work, but was a bit beyond my skill level to implement this on my SME server.

Step 1: Install version 6.8.18 on your Windows Mobile device
Step 2: Configure funambol as per normal.
Done  :P

There was a link in my post, it referred to http://southbrain.com/south/2009/06/horde-and-funambol-windows-mob.html which apparently has the steps to get the new version of the client working with Horde.

Is that what you meant?
