Is there anything I can do to help test this out?

Not yet Del (thanks for the offer tho')...
We really don't have the cycles to do much more than watch this at the moment. On the up side, we don't have customers screaming at us for Skype integration... In the end you can just dial skype-in and skype-out numbers so I'm not really sure what the benefits are.

No problem. I can see the benefit being able to use your skype out account or number to make free or low cost calls.

Hi All
And it would also give others with skype accounts to skype directly to your pbx. I'm not suggesting to access the pbx but to talk to extensions within the pbx. This is one feature I would love to use with my pbx from my mobile phone.
I thinking about 2 skype accounts one to route to a call group and the other to access the pbx directly for making calls at a cheaper rate. Once in place I would be setting my mobile up with a data sim rather than a voice sim.
This is what I would like to do with it and would love some help to attempt to set this up.
I also notice that skype work with the following
Asterisk 1.4 versions >= 1.4.25
Asterisk 1.6.0 versions >= 1.6.0.6
Asterisk 1.6.1 versions >= 1.6.1.5
I looked at the the console of SAIL and the following showed up
[root@sail ~]# asterisk -rvvv
Asterisk 1.4.21.1, Copyright (C) 1999 - 2008 Digium, Inc. and others.

== Parsing '/etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf': Found
== Parsing '/etc/asterisk/extconfig.conf': Found
Connected to Asterisk 1.4.21.1 currently running on sail (pid = 5102)
Verbosity is at least 3
So I guess an upgrade would be another thing to look at

Does any one see any problems with upgrading the version on asterisk from the current Asterisk 1.4.21.1 to Asterisk 1.4.30 the current version?

You will need to use SAIL 2.4.x (the 2.2.x release series won't run with 1.4.22 or higher).
Other than that, then as long as you can get 1.4.29/30 to install on CentOS 4 (SME7.x) then you should be fine.
Alternatively, look at installing on SME8 which will run Asterisk 1.4.29 (see Lloyd's SME8 howto).
Kind Regards
