hi,
i use sme server 7.4 and everything work fine, expect in last one month have problem with date.
in one hour time is going wrong for about 10 minutes.
in cron job /etc/init.d/ntpd restart selection is to restart in one hour and off course i have set to one time server...have someboy the same problem...

now i made easier soluttion: every hour i restart in cron hourly /etc/init.d/ntpd restart

this is a false solution..
install vm client drivers on your SME (you need build tools)..

Not really, the answer is in the document I provided in an earlier post that refernces the timekeeping system of VMWare.

I've setup many virtual SMEs and I had problem with time just once.. in that case, the only solution for my problem was to install Vmware tools into SME.. naturally, before doing so, I read that document, but no way..

AFAIR there's an howto (http://wiki.contribs.org/VMware_Tools).. I'm pretty sure you'll find also a 3ad (http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,42164.0.html)
