I have a small SME Server 7.4 installation & I need to add NEW email domains
(10 users - about 14 email addreses inc sales)
My server is setup with simple login name ie. mark, simion, peter etc
(well thats how it was done.... will know better next time!)
I need to add 3 more domains as the company has decided split marketing activities into different domains.
so I will need to handle mark@maindomain, mark@domain1, mark@domain2
Does this mean I need to delete the old mark, simon etc users and create NEW users mark1, mark2 etc?
Any alternatives....
NB: What would be good for the future is the ability to create users as mark@domain.com or enable userID & emailID

When you add a new domain, the users that are already setup will work with that new domain.
So mark will recieve email from domain1,domain2,domain3,etc.
I have 3 domains on my Sme Server 7.4 and all users recieve email for all 3 domains.

If you're asking how to handle 3 different "Marks" - each on a different domain, here's how I do it on SME: http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,38650.msg175441.html#msg175441
You will need to do some testing to find out if you can leave the existing user accounts unchanged - that is:
* create a new domain "newdomain.tld"
* create a user "newdomain.mark"
* create an alias for "mark@newdomain.tld" that delvers email locally to "newdomain.mark"
* test it out...

Ok this seems to work :cool:
myserver is maindomain.local
create psudoname
simon@maindomain.com > simon
sales@maindomain.com > sales
Created new accounts
simon.domain1
sales.domain1
simon.domain2
etc.
Create psudoname
simon@domain1.com > simon.domain1
sales@domain1.com > simon.domain1
simon@domain2.co.uk > simon.domain2
