Title: Limiting size of received emails using Qmail
Post by: Russell Schneider on June 06, 2002, 04:06:28 PM
I'm a relative newbie to Linux and set up the standard servergateway configuration with E-Smith Linux, using the standard Qmail setup to receive emails.  I've used webmin to limit the email size of received emails (and tested with very low numbers) but the server is still receiving emails greater than the limit.  I've checked the databytes file in the qmail control folder and it is the correct value.  Does anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong with my setup?
Thanks
Russell

Don't use webmin - e-smith has it's own "script writer" in the Server-manager.
Web-min will stuff it all up

Databytes won't do it - you need to set the limit at in obtuse-smtp which is the smtp daemon used in e-smith.

check their website but i think there is a switch that can be added to the startup command. Maybe you could stop the daemon in rc.local and then restart it in rc.local with the switch.
