Has anyone found the most recent OOWin behaving really badly (freezing / crashing / trying to recover loast data) whilst saving to SME ?
If so, did you find a cause / solution?
-
It's NOT doing this here at all (OO 3.x under Windows and several Ubunti machines, all saving back to Samba shares/Ibays) and there is also no problem at customer servers who do this.
I suggest you look at your logs and maybe post the Samba configuration?

mdo - what AV you using on the Wintops ?
Have KIS 10 on these - wonder if its associated ?
Will check out SMB logs ....

We are using NOD32 AV everywhere and are very happy with the product in regards to reliability, minimising on system resources, etc.

The samba logs dont appear to be reporting any errors however /var/messages has long sections like this :-

almost like connections being lost and new ip being asked for again and again [guess]

I read it like the client (for whatever reason) sends an "inform" to the server (each 20 minutes) and the server just acknowledges (not really a problem I guess).

Avast Professional here and no problem at all with OO on SME's shares

No problem here with WIn Xp, W7 and Ubuntu, using AVG on XP and Win Sec Ess on W7.
Sounds like hardware to me.
