Title: URGENT:While Accessing the SMB share i get "network path was not found"

There is an existing Win2003 Server in my Network. I installed SME 7.x .
I can ping the server.
I can Open the admin panel.

But some of Clients cannot access the server. And when i access \\sme-server or with the ip.it gives me an error saying network path was not found. and after sometime it works.
Its not happenning with a specific client. It is happenning all over my network.Sometime it works and sometime it doesnt.

I am about to shift my whole Windows Server on SME so please provide me with a solution to it.

hi

is your windows 2003 the dns server for your client? if so, did you insert an entry in dns?

please don't use CAPS and tags as "URGENT" in your subject..

Can u tell me in detail where do i need to put an entry.
But I am trying to access it through ip as well and getting the error "network path was not found."

sorry for the URGENT Tag I removed it.

And n sometime i will again get the access to the server.
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.
has no one faced this problem previously.

are you saying that

sometime works and sometime no?

if so I suspect a network issue

about dns entry.. if the dns server in your lan is W2003, you have to work on it.. and sorry but I can not help you

How do i make SME server my Dns Server??
of if you say can i convert it to my dhcp servr.
Will the problem go.
