Title: Login via shell loops!

I have problems login into the Linux part of the server (SME-Server 7,4)
I can see the connection data for a split second it flicks and loops back to the login again.
What to do pls help. Log data as follows.
Server-manager works but somtimes I have to chmod som files and i can´t

Hi! Thanks! But how di i do that without logging in. Can’t log in with any user.

any? can't you log in as root?

what did you do/modify?

No not even root. only admin into server manager web-gui

Boot up to the sme 7.4 CD and type
sme rescue
Then at the bash prompt type
chroot /mnt/sysimage

Then you have access via command prompt and can fix your problem ie undo whatever inappropriate changes you have already made, exit, remove CD & reboot.

Thank´s I did a long forgotten safety update should not affect the server but it may have ben in a vulnerable state for a long time. Server works perfectly and ticks on fine as it is . But I will try your rescue ops. next weekend. Thanks for your Help! :smile:
