I am running SME 7.4 will all the updates and I have added the extra Horde modules for calendar, tasks and the like and whilst I can sync some data, not all of it is getting through. This is using funambol client 6.5.18 on my phone.
If I upgrade the funambol client to 7.2.2 it doesn't work as it is trying to find a database called configuration. This is the information in regards to this from horde:
It's not working with Funambol 7.0.8 (Windows Mobile) (first sync does not start)
Funambol tries to sync a folder 'configuration' when a new server is added - old versions of rpc.php ignore this request, newer versions abort the process
Quick Fix: Do a first sync with an older server (I used eGroupware 1.4 - its interface seems to be based on Horde's) and afterwards change the sync URL with a registry editor to the one you intend to use.
Please note that for SyncML to work, the Horde server needs to use a working SQL backend.
Well I don't have an older version of a server that I can connect too.
I have read that you can get syncing working with zarafa but it seems like a lot of work when all of the components are available in SME instead of having to added extra stuff like this.
Could anyone suggest where to look for a way to fix this as I have no clue. I can get the logs from horde but I don't understand how to read them as there does not appear to be any error messages that are obvious.
Thanks in advance for any help people can provide.

IMO you should search in horde's forums and in funabol's ones.. this is not a SME issue..
about Zarafa: it's simple to set up and really impressive.. and it's has a good documentation and forums too.. I suggest you to read the wiki (http://wiki.contribs.org/Zarafa) page

Stefano,
I appreciate your input and I know that this is not a SME issue, just that I am using a SME server and was trying to garner some input from anyone that may have successfully had a similar setup.
I have searched through the funambol forums, but I may have to post there to get a more recent response.
With zarafa and reading about z-push, why can't I just use z-push with Horde? Do you need Kronlith and the other horde components before installing zarafa or does it include its own? This is especially important as I have them installed already, do I need to uninstall them?
Thanks for your help.

I agree..

AFAIK z-push is developed by the same group of zarafa, so I think it would work only with zarafa..

no.. you don't need anything on your server.. and can also disable SME's default webmail
zarafa is a full workgroup solution and it gives you shared calendars, shared adresses, shared mail folders, tasks etc
if you use outlook as email client you can use an outlook plugin (3 users allowed in community edition).. in this case you have a full exchange replacement
worth to take a look ;-)

I battled for over 3 hours and I got zarafa in and working, remove funambol from my phone and setup syncing. I must say this is awesome, just as I would expect an Exchange server to work. The webmail component looks just like outlook and the syncing is very quick.
Can highly recommend it.
