Title: VIRTUAL DOMAIN PROBLEM
Post by: Matthias J. Lang on June 09, 2002, 05:59:08 PM
I configured my e-smith and set a vitual domain for every domain I want to recive mail. The problem is, that the domains are not hosted local, so I do not want to see the e-smith bay when I call my domain from local network, but I want to see the domain hosted at my providers site.

Wat can I do to get this?

Matthias

In the server-manager under Hostnames and Addresses, point your www and other services to the IP address where they live.

If they are on the same subnet, it is a "local" machine.  If they live elsewhere, it is a "remote"

The problem is that ISPs may renumber my homepage address so that this would stop working. Is there any way to patch this so that a CNAME can be used instead?
