I'm happy running SME server and have been running various versions over the years.
Due to keeping track of my e-mails I'm using IMAP as my e-mail protocol. And this works fine with both Thunderbird and MS Outlook express.
Thunderbird works fine BOTH on Windows and on Linux.
But if I on a linux PC want to use Evolution and IMAP I get an error:
Could not authenticate against IMAP Server
IMAP command failed: Syntax Error: Invalid Integer.
I'm using secure IMAP on SME and I have seen this error on ALL the SME versions I have tried, including SME 7.x and SME 8.0
I wonder if anyone here knows if it's my Evolution setup or it's my SME settings that are wrong.
But I'm not happy with changing my SME settings as I have external users relying on the current configuration that works fine against Windows PC's.

hi.. I'm using evolution with imap on ubuntu 8.10 and CentOS 5.3 without any issue..
did you try to search with google for your error? IMHO it'a an evolution issue, not a SME one

I agree it's most likely an Evolution error. But I simply hoped that someone who use Evolution and IMAP could tell me what Evolution settings they use.

nothing more and nothing less than the usual setup: username, password, imap type, imap and smtp server (SME)..
I repeat, it's a evolution issue, search google for it
I think this 3ad is OT here, I'll ask the moderators to move it to general discussions

Moving this topic to the General Discussion forum, it is more appropriate there. Thanks!
