Hi!
without beeing aware that i changed something on my SME 5.1.2 i suddenly get an "Internal Server Error" whatever link i click in the menu of the server-manager.
the error log gives a :
[Tue Jun 11 00:37:26 2002] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Premature end of script headers: /etc/e-smith/web/panels/manager/cgi-bin/pleasewait
but when i run the pleasewait script from the console, everything looks fine...
i already restartet the init.d/http* script - no success
any ideas?
thanks in advance,

Answering myself..
somehow, the permissions for /tmp had been reset to 755 instead of 777 so that apache couldn't write any tempfiles there.

After searching and searching and searching, the chmod to the tmp folder fixed the problem. The needle in the haystack so to speak here.

our webmail and server manager went down yesterday with the same errors folks have posted here and so i found and tried the command:
/bin/chmod -f 1777 /tmp
and still cannot use webmail & server manager.
here are the other threads related that i have found:

Just ran into this with a machine that had had a bad power supply; even with a new hard drive & fresh SME 6.0 these errors occurred, so I am blaming the other hardware that was no doubt damaged by the faulty power supply.
