Title: 7.4 mail and internet issues

I've noticed escalating issues with my 2 sme servers (2 locations) last couple weeks.

About 6 weeks ago I did a upgrade to Terabyte mirrored disks with a new install of 7.4 then a restore of backup all seemed to go well.


However now

About 45 messages stuck in queue - not sending

Receiving okay

I would like to delete all messages from queue to see if that corrects problem. I seem to be missing how to in the documentation - another thought might be deleting any quarantened files -

Space wise I have 759 gigs free.

Yet email is received and internet access available from other computers.

Looks like a problem connecting to the internet , is sme in server gateway or server only ?

On the local server its Server only mode

On the one 50 miles away its Server/Gateway.

Both having similar issues - Same Internet Service Provider

I tried this morning sending files to my gmail account and they wouldn't go through before or after a reboon - now 5 minutes ago 2 just sent went through, but the ones sent this morning I have no idea.

Any suggestions for deleting what is queued up on the thought something is stuck preventing other emails from going through?

Also can you check if your test connection to Contribs.org is successful - maybe the test point at Contribs is down?

Alternative is something in the last update has caused the problem.

As you can see contribs.org is up and runing , you can connect to the console and try to ping a few web sites..

Sounds like your isp is blocking or shaping traffic in port 25 , you can test your mail server using this site :

I think you've missed this page (http://wiki.contribs.org/Qmhandle_mail_queue_manager) from the wiki and this (http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,41680.0.html) post in the forums.. :-)

qmail logs and server manager log analysis panel will tell you why messages are not being sent.

A stuck message will not block the outgoing mail queue - there are multiple parallel message deliveries.
