Title: search engine / document search / shares search

Hello Sme Folks,

I was wondering if anyone here uses SME as a business search engine? I would set up another (that would be the third sme box!) SME to index some of the ibays, some of the windows shares, some of the local domain PC's HD.. And of course picture search etc..

Of course it would be wonderful if it were possible to use lucene / Solr  and some easy to use web interface..
I saw the lone kscripts entry in the forums, but that is a bit too reductive. Plus, I need to feed some windows shares with all kinds of windows docs..

Maybe I just don't know which contrib to install? or is this all a dream? should I rather use some readymade-targeted distro?

Hi Michel,

I use Filespider inside VMware Win XP.
It will crawl/scan all accessible samba/windows shares in your intranet and index it.

Thanks Thomasch, that seems a bit non-sme to me..

has anyone installed KnowledgeTree recently? how?

You are right, it's non SME.

KT is not a intranet search engine, it's a document management system.
