Hi First post here so go easy please,
Am using SME at home (7.4) and wish to setup mail server, I don't have a static IP so have tried;
http://wiki.contribs.org/Domain_practical_usage_tips
But the option for dynamic dns doesn't appear, is this no longer supported? do I need to get a static IP?
Thanks

If you have been looking for this option in the Server console (http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:Administration_Manual:Chapter6) and not in the Server-manager,
and it is not there then please file a bug in the bug-tracker (http://bugs.contribs.org/) (more info: Bugzilla Help (http://wiki.contribs.org/Bugzilla_Help)).
HTH.

You login to the sme server Console to configure the dyndns setup, NOT to server manager.
I see the Howto has been updated at
http://wiki.contribs.org/Domain_practical_usage_tips
Remember also that the sme server built in dyndns client is only good for one dynamic domain.
If you wish to host multiple dynamic domains and have them automatically update with your dynamic IP, then you will need to use the ddclient Howto (and install the ddclient contrib).
In that case do not nominate any dyndns setup in the Console, but instead use the newly added ddclient server manager panel to configure your dynamic domain details. See the ddclient Howto.

Thanks for the replies;
Yes I'm logging in at the server console not using the server manager.
When I select configure, Im prompted for the primary domain, IP etc, the only reference to DNS is the option to enter an alternate DNS server IP , there is no option for dynamic dns or user name password?
Is this down to being configured as server only, do I need to use SME as a gateway for this to work?

Yes the dynamic client setup is only avaiable in server gateway mode.
In server only mode you need to install the ddclient contrib referred to earlier.
