I am having problems with unreliability of XP machines authenticating to the SME Server 7.4 in the last week (viz. sometimes they do and sometimes they don't).
This seems to have occurred since an upgrade. The machine rebooted and hung at the "upgrading your configuration" screen. Forcing a reboot goes through but results in the "Warning: a reconfigure and reboot is required before proceeding! Failure to do so now may leave your system in an unknown state!" message.
I have looked at Bug 5566 (http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5566) which seems related. I currently have:-
[root@gnu-gmc-pdc ~]# rpm -q smeserver-audittools smeserver-yum
smeserver-audittools-1.0.0-7.el4.sme
smeserver-yum-2.0.0-11.el4.sme
[root@gnu-gmc-pdc ~]# db configuration show UnsavedChanges
UnsavedChanges=yes
signal-event post-upgrade; signal-event reboot
results in the machine hanging again.
I would value advice on how to proceed. How do find out what rpms have unsaved changes? Can I configure them prior to rebooting to avoid the machine hanging again?
