Title: Installing SME on headless servers
Post by: edform on December 18, 2009, 03:46:50 PM
There has been some discussion in the past about loading SME server onto the current crop of low power consumption headless servers, but I don't believe anyone got past the post-install configuration stage which requires a video output on the server.

Is it possible to write a script to do the post-install configuration phase? If it is, how would one begin such a task?

I believe Selintra has some experience with those kind of installs. They put their SARK/SAIL on small boxes and cf-cards for some customers. On rhel systems a vnc headless install is possible, don't know if SME supports this...
