Hi,
I have been repeatedly trying to install SME 5.1.2 on an IBM PC-365 dual pentium pro machine. Win2k detects and uses both cpu's with no problems. I have also done a standard RedHat 7.3 install using the smp kernel, and both processors are used without any problems. SME will only install the uniprocessor version, no matter how much I try. I have attempted this on two separate machines. I am sure it is not installing the smp stuff, I have checked the packages and also the information in /proc. I also tried 4.1.2 and that did not work either.
Is there anything I can do to force SMP mode? Any suggestions at all?
Thanks,
Isaac

I have the same problem with a dual processor Compaq Prosignia 740 - it never detects the dual processor even though other operating systems can. I never got a solution, so half my server is sitting idle!
