Hi
I have a number of domains hosted on my SME server. On one of those domains, (not the primary one), I've installed the wordpress contrib which is now setup to my satisfaction. It can currently be access at www.mydomain.com.au/wordpress. I'd like to change it so that when people www.mydomain.com.au, they go straight to the wordpress installation.
Is there a way to do this or do I need to get the DNS for that domain edited?
TIA
Peter

To clarify further, if someone goes to www.mydomain.com.au, that it goes to what is currently www.mydomain.com.au/wordpress.

Perhaps you can point the domain as a virtual domain to the ibay. That should make it available as a toplevel domain.

Thanks for your reply.
How do I do that?

Through the domains panel in server-manager: http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:Administration_Manual:Chapter13#Domains

Thanks again for your reply.
I've had a a look at the domains panel in the server manager but I can't see how to make the changes I need to.
At present my original website is located in an ibay, (VB), which that domain resolves to. If I click on modify, it lets me select which ibat I want the domain to resolve to, but does not let me change it to where it needs to be. R=The wordpress does not put anything into an ibay.
Can you tell me where I'm going wrong?
Regards,
Peter

The contrib installs wordpress into /opt so pointing the virtual domain at an ibay is not sufficient. You would also need to put a redirect or link in the html folder that then points to your wordpress. Do an advanced search of the forums on link or redirect as this has been answered quite a few times before.
Alternatively you can move wordpress from /opt to an ibay. You would need to change the wordpress config files to suit.
There is another possibility in this howto, which points your domain at wordpress in /opt. Some people report that this method causes other odd issues, but for others it seems to work OK. This method is the specific answer to your query, see

Hi
I don't know if this applies to you but it applies to me. Just recently I have the scenario as you. I don't have to modify SME but you need to modify it's wordpress database. Check on this link it might help you.

P.S
My wordpress is located in an Ibay.
